When should I apply for an internship, thesis candidate position or student job?
Please apply at least two to three months before you plan on beginning at Fresenius.
Online application – what to include?
If you are applying for a specific position, please use the appropriate form next to the job ad under “apply online.” Otherwise, we prefer a classic letter of application accompanied by a resume on paper no larger than A4. Be sure to indicate in your application letter which field you are interested in. You can transfer texts to our application form or attach them as Word documents. If you like, you can also include a photograph in jpg or gif format. This, however, is optional. If we get the impression that you will fit into our team, we will ask you to send us further information.
For a student job, please download our application for temporary help and return the completed form to the appropriate contacts. We will add you to our database and get in contact when a position that fits your qualifications becomes available.
Why is online better?
Classic or online applications – we handle both in the same manner. Still, it is easier for us to gain a first impression quickly through an online application. However, we expect you to meet certain standards even online – a simple link to your homepage is not sufficient.
Career books often recommend calling about advertised jobs to demonstrate particular interest. Is it useful to call the contact before applying for a position?
We are happy to answer questions on advertised positions but please keep in mind that our employees answer dozens of these inquiries daily. Please be sure before you call that the information is not already available in the job ad or elsewhere on our web site. Despite what the books may say, a call does not increase your chances with Fresenius.
Is Fresenius always Fresenius?
You might be acquainted with the name "Fresenius" from the Nutella jar on your breakfast table, however, there is no connection between the Institut Fresenius in Taunusstein (a chemical and biological laboratory) and the health care group Fresenius – although the origin of the names has a historical link. More information can be found here.
Are there opportunities abroad at Fresenius?
Principally, yes. However, Fresenius generally relies on local employees since they know the market and the specific needs of the patients best of all. Therefore, lengthy stays abroad are more the exception than the rule.
How current is the “job market” on the Homepage?
We review the “job market” daily. As soon as an appropriate applicant is found, the job advertisement is removed. If you are familiar with an advertisement for a particular position from an earlier visit, the position is still available as long as it is on our web site.
